Entries open for Hyundai Rock the Run 2015

Hyundai Rock the Run is set to return to Sandton on Sunday, 1 March, 2015. More than 10,000 athletes, families and friends will take to the Sandton's streets with music stages positioned at key points on the scenic route.

The event consists of 5km, 10km and 21.1km routes and starts at Mushroom Farm Park, home of the Hyundai balloon. All participants will then gain access to the massive after-party concert, at the same venue, featuring some of South Africa's biggest bands and performers.

Entries open for Hyundai Rock the Run 2015

Hyundai Rock the Run 2015 promises to be bigger and better than before with a number of exiting enhancements, including:

    • Performances by Mi Casa, Matthew Mole and Mango Groove
    • A new 5km social fun run, which is open to all ages
    • A fun dress-up theme, which encourages all participants to dress-up as their favourite rock or pop performer and queue up to win fantastic spot prizes at the event
    • A massive 'Wall of Noise', which will provide more than 400 metres of music, packed with DJs and pumping tracks
    • More music on the route than ever before with live choirs, orchestras and buskers adding to the musical experience
    • Freebies galore - the first 5000 participants to book their 10km and 21.1km tickets will receive a complimentary Rock the Run running shirt

Time means money (and training); therefore Rock the Run will provide quicker and easier race pack collection before the event, at Sandton City Centre. Once participants have completed the race, families, friends and spectators will be able to continue the fun with live entertainment, food stalls, a car exhibition, a kiddies fun corner and a beer tent. The event will not only provide families and athletes with a full day of entertainment, but will also support The Sports Trust by donating a percentage of proceeds from every entry towards this worthy charitable cause.

To participate in Rock the Run, go to www.rocktherun.co.za. An early-bird entry costs R150 for the 5km, R210 for the 10km and R240 for the 21.1km. The deadline for early-bird entries is midnight, 15 January, 2015. Thereafter, entries cost R160 for the 5km, R230 for the 10km and R260 for the 21.1km. For those who do not wish to run, but would like to enjoy a day of fun in the sun at the concert, the entrance fee is R120. Children under the age of 13 may enter the concert free of charge, if accompanied by an adult in possession of a ticket. Please note that the entry offer is limited to two children per adult. Participants will be asked to indicate how many children's concert tickets will be required when entering online.
