Double whammy for Oasys at Markex

Since the exhibition first launched some twenty years ago, Markex has been branded a melting pot for new ideas for the marketing and communications industry. Today it is recognised as the country's premier marketing, promotions and special events exhibition in South Africa, offering visitors a comprehensive and dynamic showcase of leading suppliers.

Oasys Innovations is one such supplier, not only for the 9000 square meters for the Markex exhibitions infrastructure, but the company will also showcase new products and systems on its own exhibitions stand. “This is an important exhibition for Oasys to demonstrate our total solution for exhibitions and events to decision makers in marketing positions,” says Brian Kennedy, Chief Executive for Oasys Innovations. “Since our last appearance at Markex, we have launched additional components to our business portfolio, including audio visual services, new exhibition systems, furniture for hire, hi-tech marquees, reception kiosks, lighting systems, internal décor, graphic design elements, poster productions - to mention only a few.”

Kennedy says that his company has made more than R12 million investments in new products in recent months to ensure that organizers and end users can present their customers with a fresh appearance in their own marketing collateral. “Originators for the demand for our services extend from corporate companies, such as Nedbank for their Golf Challenge at Sun City, brands such as Siemens for all their exhibitions which have a strong technology orientation, the public sector including events for the ANC, most of the country's exhibitions and events organisers, through to high profile weddings.”

Kennedy says that he is encouraged that advertising agencies, such as McCann's Worldwide, have started using the services from Oasys Innovations for some of their leading brands. “Advertising and public relations agencies can add a lot more value to their clients, other than their traditional services, and the engagement marketing industry - exhibitions and events where suppliers meet customers - has become key to the marketing spend. Agencies can share in, and contribute towards this development and gain a piece of the financial rewards.

“With South Africa increasingly hosting international events locally, it is important that local companies, offering services to marketers, increase their inventories in products, services and quality in order to measure up to the standards visitors are used to in international markets,” concludes Kennedy.
