The company sponsored infrastructure from four of their activation companies. Oasys Events supplied two 15m X 25m marquees fitted with chandeliers which seated 650 guests. Oasys Electrical supplied the entire electrical infrastructure for the event and Oasys Hiring supplied furniture ranging from tables, padded chairs and carpeting to stages and stations. Oasys Audio Visual managed all technical support for this auspicious occasion.

The SAPS Rapid Response Unit awards included medals for ten years and twenty years of long service as well as ten year commemoration awards. The parade was initiated by Superintendent Govender who is responsible for the active deployment of the unit. This unit is involved in facilitating and directing frontline staff who attend to Trio crimes, which include hijacking, business robbery and household robbery. Provincial Commissioner Naidoo was the functionary and Commissioner Ndluli hosted the event.

Says Superintendent Jacobs, head of the reservists in the rapid response unit and recipient of a ten year commemoration and twenty year faithful service medals: “It is important to conduct medal parades to honour those members who work tirelessly to protect and serve the public. It also serves to boost the morale of my fellow colleagues.”

Richard Emery, chief operations officer of Oasys Events was responsible for managing and coordinating the supply of all infrastructure for the parade. “Our sponsorship acknowledges the active role that the police play in combating crime. It is important that individuals are recognised for their dedicated service and it is the duty of business and civilians to lend a helping hand towards programmes of recognition. I would like to thank Decor-d-zign and MPR Hiring for their support and involvement in this event.”
