Craig Browning, chief operating officer for Oasys Audio Visual says, “Oasys sponsored equipment to the value of R80 000, which included a ramp, sound and lighting equipment and video screens. We have been involved with Wow & Wag since its inception.”
Wow and Wag has been the lifelong dream of Dominique Blumenthal from Paws Truly Fundraising and Events. “Each year we choose an animal welfare organisation which then benefits from Wow & Wag, not just through the funds raised, but also through media exposure and increased awareness. This year we selected ACSA's Bird Strike Avoidance Project. It was a delight to have a record number of 300 people attend this year's show.”
Each dog was dressed in a special evening wear outfit designed by doggie couture designer Angie Kemp of Doggie Hillfigher. Some dogs that participated were show dogs that Tracy Cox from Animal Talk arranged while other dogs were the celebrities' own.
Edith Venter, owner of Edith Venter Promotions has also walked with dogs in previous Wow & Wag shows but this year decided to get more involved through helping to organise the event and raising sponsorship.
Concludes Browning, “Our involvement with this unique fundraising event forms part of our CSI initiative. Animal charities also need support in order to survive and we take pride in the part we play in making a difference to the lives of humans and animals alike.”
