Oasys appoints new hiring executive

Lewis (46) was born in Zambia. He completed his electrical apprenticeship through Eskom and also acquired a wireman's licence. He started his career at the dental company P Grant Smith and then moved on to Siemens where he was employed for 16 years, first in dental sales and then in Corporate Communications, coordinating exhibitions and designs. Thereafter he joined the company's Automation and Drives Division where he worked for three years. He was then appointed to coordinate sales for private telecommunications equipment with value added resellers.

After leaving the corporate world of Siemens, he managed his own ventures in the restaurant business and later the IT industry. After a fulfilling time spent as entrepreneur, he reconsidered and moved back into the exhibition industry, joining Oasys in 2008 as Operations Manager for the Durban branch. He was seconded to the Confederations Cup where he was the Electrical Project Manager for events held at Coca-Cola Park (formerly Ellis Park) and Loftus stadium.

Earlier in his career Lewis completed a leadership development programme through the Graduate Institute for Management and Technology, equipping him with essential processes and reporting skills as well as teaching him valuable lessons in client liaison and financial management.
