Job description
ResponsibilitiesSocial media and content- Manage social channels across client accounts: content calendars, scheduling and publishing and reporting.
- Write engaging, on-brand copy for posts, captions, stories and short-form content across all major platforms.
- Brief and coordinate content with creative and production teams.
- Identify and act on trending moments and tactical opportunities.
Community management- Monitor, moderate and respond to comments, messages and mentions across client channels.
- Build genuine audience engagement and manage online reputation in line with client protocols.
- Track community sentiment and surface insights for clients and the team.
Strategy and client liaison- Contribute to social content and channel strategies, measurement plans and campaign proposals.
- Produce reports, analytics summaries and campaign recaps.
- Attend client meetings and present social insights and recommendations with confidence.
- Monitor competitor and category activity to inform recommendations.
Influencer and creative collaboration- Work with the creative team to brief and direct social-first content.
- Support influencer and content creator briefing, coordination and content review.
- Collaborate across paid media, strategy and client service to deliver integrated campaigns.
Experience and education- Relevant degree in advertising, marketing, communications or equivalent.
- Proven experience in social media management and community management, preferably agency-side.
- Exposure to influencer marketing or content creator management is advantageous.
- Experience on retail or FMCG brands is a plus.
Skills and attributes- Exceptional social copywriting skills across platforms and brand voices.
- Strong knowledge of the social media landscape within SA and abroad.
- Trend-savvy with genuine passion for social and digital culture.
- Analytical, comfortable turning data into clear, actionable takeaways.
- Highly organised, deadline-driven and composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative, with excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
Technical skills- Social media management platforms: Sprout social, Hootsuite, Falcon or similar.
- Social listening/monitoring platforms: Brandwatch, Meltwater or similar.
- Familiarity with influencer platforms such as Modash or Stellar.
- Understanding of UTM tags and basic paid social principles.
- Google Analytics or equivalent experience advantageous.
