[Carole Kimutai] The world has dedicated one day in a year to scribes 3rd May. This is World Press Freedom Day. According to the United Nations, it is a day that "celebrates the fundamental principles of press freedom; to evaluate press freedom around the world, to defend the media from attacks on their independence and to pay tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in the exercise of their profession".
[Carole Kimutai] John Sergon, ICT director at the Directorate of e-Government Kenya in the Office of the President, has lauded Kenya for making efforts towards becoming an open country through promoting citizens' rights to access information provided for in Kenya's new Constitution that came to effect on 27 August 2010.
