Hansa Pilsener brings landmark music tour, powered by 34

The Hansa Legends in the Making Tour was unveiled to an audience of invited guests, music industry leaders and media on Saturday, 13 November. The launch, held at an impressive private location in Dunkeld, Johannesburg, was hosted in association with national radio partner Metro FM, who performed a live outside broadcast from the venue.

Hansa is out to honour musical legends as well as showcase the talent in South Africa's rising stars, because they all possess that something special which makes them extraordinary.

House music prodigy DJ Tira and the enterprising duo of Malaika are the established legends who will usher in Mzansi's hottest rising stars: Kwela Tebza, Ntando, Zuluboy, Dmos, Vusi, Futuresound and Freedom. This summer these incredible musical acts will be touring South Africa and performing in 15 exclusive concerts around the country.

The launch event erupted into massive applause when it was revealed that the final tour concert, to be held in February 2011, will feature a headline performance by international superstar Pharrell Williams with his band N*E*R*D.

The catch - there are no tickets for sale to these remarkable concerts! Fans wanting tickets will need to listen out for competitions on any of the 6 partner radio stations, or participate in a number of trade and on-pack activities developed by 34 for the brand.

The launch event continued with all 9 local acts taking to the stage to perform the song they co-wrote called "Dream Big" - which is sure to become a signature song of the summer - before showcasing their own musical styles in an intimate sunset concert.

Appointed by SAB, 34 has undertaken the task of stitching all the elements of the tour together, an achievement of which they are justifiably proud. Morne Fourie, MD of 34, said at the launch that "it's fantastic to see an idea come to life and remain so true to the initial concept." Hansa Pilsener General Manager, Mosidi Seretlo, was equally impressed with the day, noting that "the hard work of all our partners has ensured the event's success, setting the benchmark for a summer of memorable music and special brand experiences."

The Tour will be supported by TV, radio, press, outdoor, digital and trade communication to ensure that Hansa Legends in the Making Tour tickets remain in hot demand.
