Just short of 14 months since the country went into lockdown, the 184-room City Lodge Hotel Hatfield in Pretoria has flung open its doors and the team is welcoming guests back to the hotel once again.

The hotel is one kilometre away from sister property Courtyard Hotel Arcadia, and is surrounded by the capital city’s iconic Union Buildings, embassies, universities, sports grounds, cultural landmarks, and shopping and entertainment destinations. This makes it ideal for government and municipal employees, corporates, students and their families, and those looking for a relaxing spot to take the family for a weekend away.

For those travelling on business, the hotel has two meeting rooms which under Covid-19 physical distancing regulations accommodate seven and four people. Travellers can keep up their exercise regimen by making use of the fitness room or take a dip in the swimming pool. City Lodge’s signature restaurant, #Café, serves full breakfast, lunch and dinner, and has a respectable wine list on offer. The sundowner bar is the perfect place to bask in the mild winter sunshine of the Highveld and take in the spectacular sunsets.

Free, fast and upcapped Wi-Fi is an essential for the modern traveller, as is free, safe parking. The hotel’s convenient location is close to major routes as well as the Gautrain Hatfield Station for those coming to Gauteng by air or visitors from Johannesburg keen to leave the cars at home.

Selected rooms designed for those living with physical disabilities are also available. Same day laundry and dry cleaning allows guests to relax and let housekeeping take care of all of their needs.

Re-opening rates are highly competitive, priced from R850 per room for bed and breakfast and from R1,050 per room for dinner, bed and breakfast.

Lindiwe Sangweni-Siddo, chief operating officer, says, “We are delighted to see City Lodge Hotel Hatfield open once again and have it abuzz with guests. All Covid-19 hygiene and cleanliness protocols are observed front and back of house, as outlined on our website (www.clhg.com), so that guests and staff may stay safe. There is so much to see and do in our capital city, especially during Gauteng’s mild, sunny winter, and this is the perfect hotel to serve as a base for both business and leisure, week day and weekend travellers. Let’s continue to be tourists in our own backyard.”
