ACA CEO resigns

The Association for Communication and Advertising (ACA) chairman, Reinher Behrens, announced today, Wednesday, 23 May 2007, that CEO Zandile Nzalo will be departing from the association in August 2007. Nzalo, who will be leaving after serving two years out of her three-year contract, has indicated that she wants to return to business to pursue new ventures.

“I come away from the ACA with a wealth of knowledge gained as well as some key successes during my tenure. The signing of the Industry Charter and Scorecard, the launch of the Africa Academy for Communication and Advertising, and the progress on the industry's transformation figures are top on my list of achievements,” said Nzalo.

Behrens said Nzalo had injected new energy into the ACA and had increased frequency of interaction between the association and its members. He said Nzalo had hosted the Apex awards with the highest attendance and entries in the history of the competition. She had also been instrumental in the publishing of the procurement guidelines for the communication industry.

“The Board of Directors will soon be embarking on a recruitment and selection process for a new CEO,” said Behrens.
