Tshwane launches SME awards

The primary objective of the awards is to promote SMEs as effective models of job creation, while robustly delivering a message across Tshwane communities that through groundbreaking and value-driven concepts, entrepreneurial ideas can be translated into world-class ventures.

The vision of the awards is to enhance and inspire entrepreneurship in the City of Tshwane, as a means to benefit the socio-economic standing of South Africa's administrative capital city and the hub of the automotive sector, research, development, innovation and knowledge. All entrepreneurs know it is a daunting task to open and sustain a growing business and may go into this field not expecting a single congratulation from anyone.

Motsekga says, "The TBA seek to create a platform wherein social cohesion exists to support and promote black industrialists and innovators who are contributing to Tshwane's economy and are instrumental in developing township economies."

In order for small businesses to grow and become self-sustaining, they require support from government and other private business. The Tshwane Business Awards hope to foster these relationships between the winners and leaders in their respective industries.
