MTN lowers call rates for World Cup

MTN has reduced its off peak call rates to 95c per minute for customers on Off Peak and Off Peak TopUp contracts, reportedly one of the lowest mobile call rates in South Africa. Additionally, it is lowering the peak rate on these packages from R2.85 to R2.50. Both the off peak and peak rates are charged per second from the first second and the new rates apply to calling any local number. This promotion is effective from 11 June 2010 until 11 July 2010.
