New Shiraz vintage out at Hartenberg
Hartenberg Wine Estate has released the 2007 Hartenberg Estate Shiraz, matured for 20 months in first and second-fill French oak followed by an additional two years in the bottle. Described as eminently drinkable now, it can mellow further for at least another eight years. The 2006 vintage was named the Best New World Wine at the 2010 Zurich International Wine Competition in Switzerland. The 2007 vintage sells at the cellar door for R130 and is available at leading wine stores and selected restaurants country-wide.
