Show profile Hide profileI founded and managed More Than Words Graphics CC (MTW), a multimedia design company, from 2005 - 2010 after working in the digital print and media industry for five years preceded by ten years as an employee at the head office of the Western Cape Education department.
MTW offered a full-spectrum design service ranging from: desktop publishing, graphic art, graphic design, web design; litho, flexographic and digital print and 3D & 2D animation. During the period 2009 - 2010 I completed my certificate in New Venture Creation (NQF4) and started my self-funded research in local community enterprise development. I networked with private companies and conducted several pilot projects in township communities in order to gain a first-hand understanding of practical business models that can grow local economies. This led to the establishment of mutual-benefit relationships with companies like Tradespot Mobile (Pty) ltd, Eco Steel Development (Pty) ltd and Itakane Trading 156 (Pty) ltd that focused on mobile vending, emerging banking, retail and real estate training in new emerging markets.
