I am currently working at TCI as a Senior Project Manager. I manage a team of 3 to 4 people and I assist the Managers as well as the MD in some tasks. I am also responsible for running 3 conferences a year with a target of R300 000, 00 per conference. It involves research, writing of programs, confirming speakers, working on the database as well as hosting the conference as doing the final report
The responsibilities are:
• Arranging of conferences, including arranging for speakers
• Communicating with speaker
• Writing articles for email campaigns, press releases
• Uploading conferences on other websites example Bizcommunity, Conference alert and so on
• Research on speakers and database
• Database work.
• Looking at venues
• Organizing the venue with the décor
• Looking at the AV
• Writing of email campaigns and
• Internal update on TCI website and communicating with Quinton for other website updates
• Finial report on the conference
• Opening the conference
• Hosting the conference and dealing with any issues that may raise at the conference e.g. speaker pull out or delegate problems.
