Dealfish tops in mobile advertising

Through a mobile advertising partnership with InMobi, an independent mobile ad network, Dealfish.co.ke is now one of the most visited local websites in Kenya. Dealfish, a free, online classifieds site for local communities, provides users with a means to buy, sell, rent and find products, services and jobs.

Dealfish engaged InMobi to help drive registrations and raise brand awareness in Kenya using mobile advertising campaigns. The Dealfish site received over 60,000 listings in nine months.

Moses Kemibaro, Kenya country manager for Dealfish says, "We have seen results that are very encouraging in Kenya and intend to continue using InMobi in the long-term for the rest of the region as we expand into Uganda and Tanzania."

Committing to mobile advertising

According to Isis Nyong'o, InMobi's VP and MD for Africa, "Dealfish succeeded by committing to mobile advertising as a primary part of its marketing mix. With close to eight million Kenyans now browsing the internet via their mobile phones, Dealfish was able to effectively reach a new audience and transform its business in a matter of months. Their success is a clear indication of the power and importance of mobile advertising in Africa."

A recent study from InMobi and the Mobile Marketing Association indicates that 74% of Kenyan mobile internet users also shop with their mobile devices.
