The awarding ceremony seeks to reward organisations and individuals who have showcased strategic and creative use of social media. Last week, organisers released the final list of nominees to be voted for by the online community for the gala event. The voting started on 9 July and will end on 8 August.
The nominees, drawn from Kenya's social media landscape and clustered into six collective categories include Safaricom, KTN, Sauti Sol, Juliani, Samsung Hot Secretz, Crazy Nairobian, Dennis Itumbi and Capital FM.
"The awards will not only identify and celebrate the best of the best in social media but will highlight its influence on brand building and encourage companies to intensify their online presence," said Soma's Marvin Tumbo.
