Presenter Thabo Mdluli and head judge Lindelani Mkhize are in charge of SABC2's new music reality show I Want To Sing Gospel, which starts on Sunday, 3 August 2008, at 8pm, to find South Africa's new gospel star. Music industry executive and local gospel legend Mkhize have been holding auditions in Port Elizabeth, Durban, Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Johannesburg since May and now the top 30 singers are now on their way for 13 grueling, trying weeks in Johannesburg - where they'll have to prove to Mkhize why he should turn one of them into a superstar. According to Chrizelda de Vos, SABC2 brand manager, gospel music is one of the most popular music genres in SA.
