Cape Town-based artist Timo Osse explores this idea in Mosey on Down, an exhibition inspired by memories, imagination and the places that connect us.
Working with acrylic paint on the underside of upholstery off-cuts, Timo transforms an unexpected material into colourful, dreamlike landscapes.
Drawing on walks through Cape Town and memories of travels abroad, his paintings bring together familiar streets, distant places and imagined worlds. From Loop Street to the Himalayan mountains, fragments of different landscapes overlap, creating playful scenes where the urban environment meets nature.
An engineer, entrepreneur and self-taught artist, Timo approaches creativity with curiosity and humour. His work invites us to slow down, look closer and rediscover the wonder hidden in everyday surroundings.
