Student Support Intern

Remuneration:R5750 - R5750 per month basic salary

The purpose of the position is to support the student advancement team with holistic student support. The intern will be responsible for moderating student online profiles, assisting with student queries and supporting the team in the execution of any student support related activities.

Responsibilities (including, but not exclusive to):
  • Perform checks and verify online student profiles and check the documentation submitted by students as part of the Feenix student applications process
  • Liaise directly with students via email, telephone and WhatsApp when additional documentation or information is needed
  • Update student profiles as requested on the backend of the Feenix platform
  • Direct requests or unresolved queries to relevant parties/departments
  • Provide weekly and monthly feedback on the progress of student applications status, issues, queries, etc)
  • Track all queries using the platforms and tools provided by Feenix (e.g. Zendesk, Little Green Light)
  • Assist the Student Advancement Coordinator with additional tasks as needed (moderating frontend of the website, student recruitment etc.)
  • General admin support
  • Elevate the Feenix Brand – drive communication that is authentic, simple and transparent
Reports to: Student Advancement Coordinator
Employment type: Full time, 12-month internship (1st July 2024 - 30th June 2025)
Stipends: R4815 stipend + R935 transport allowance per month

What is required:
  • South African Citizen
  • South African Youth (18-34 yrs)
  • Matric, with B or A-aggregate in English
  • A tertiary education qualification (degree or diploma)
  • First time jobseeker and currently unemployed (has not had a permanent job before)
  • Excellent time management by working on multiple tasks, shifting priorities as necessary and organising tasks and materials to meet pressing deadlines
  • Well organised and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Accuracy with attention to quality and detail
  • Self-motivated and able to work well independently and as a team player
  • Focused and able to see a task through to completion with little supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills; enjoys interacting with students as well as having a high level of professionalism in student interactions, to deliver quality customer service
  • Has the ability to understand student challenges, Feenix platform expectations and propose suitable solutions
  • Takes initiative and copes well under pressure
  • Is willing to participate in a credit and criminal check or any industry-specific checks required for the job
