    Job description

    Key purpose of role

    This role is responsible for driving organisational capability, compliance, and performance excellence across the employee lifecycle. It leads the implementation of learning and development strategies, transformation reporting, and performance management frameworks. The role ensures alignment with labour legislation and group standards, while leveraging analytics and HRIS (Cornerstone) to inform decision-making and track progress against HC objectives. The incumbent acts as a strategic business partner to line managers and is the custodian of the HRIS platform.

    Key performance of areas

    Learning and development:
    Conduct training needs analysis and create training plans. Design and deliver training aligned to business goals. Evaluate effectiveness and manage career development initiatives. Promote continuous learning and manage training budget.

    Compliance and governance:
    Ensure EE, skills development, and BBBEE submissions are accurate and timely. Prepare for audits, mitigate compliance risks, and ensure policy alignment.

    Performance management:
    Implement and coordinate performance cycles and PDPs. Support managers with performance reviews and development planning. Ensure adherence to performance timelines.

    HC reporting and analytics:
    Provide input to monthly dashboards and workforce insights. Oversee HC master data and contribute to strategic reporting.

    HRIS:
    Own and optimize the HRIS platform. Ensure data integrity, system configuration, user support, and reporting capabilities. Drive automation and digital efficiency.

    Business partnering:
    Act as a strategic advisor to line managers. Provide guidance on performance, development, compliance, and transformation. Build trust and alignment with business priorities.

    Change and culture:
    Lead change management initiatives. Embed organisational values and support leadership alignment. Apply structured change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR, Kotter). Monitor cultural indicators and support initiatives that embed organisational values.

    Minimum required qualification:
    Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.

    Minimum years of experience:
    Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in a Human Capital generalist or HCBP role.

    Additional role requirements:
    • Occasional travel may be required
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Thorough knowledge of employment laws and practices in South Africa (BBBEE and EE)
    • Exposure and experience in talent management
    • Strong knowledge of HC practices including the change management discipline
    • Experience with HRIS and other HR software systems. Knowledge and background of Sage 300 People system will be advantageous
